Who We Are
Premier Soccer Centres was formed in the summer of 2003 under the Directorship of Mark Jones and Dave Hunt.
Mark had a successful playing career spanning 15 years, signing a professional contract for Oxford United FC at the age of 16. 'Jonah' spent 10 seasons at The Manor before moving on to Swindon Town FC, then Cardiff City FC before finishing his playing days in the Conference with Farnborough Town FC. Mark was privileged to be involved in three promotion seasons during his career and was part of Oxford United FC's winning Milk Cup Final Squad of 1986. When his playing days were over he turned his attention to coaching children, passing on his knowledge and experience to the children of Oxfordshire. Mark says "Although you can never replace playing, watching the children develop comes a very close second".
Dave, since passing his coaching qualifications in 1993, has been delivering coaching sessions within primary schools for the past 11 years. He started his soccer schools in 1994, firstly with after-school football clubs. Due to the popularity of these, his coaching sessions were then employed during curriculum time in schools as well as running Saturday morning clubs and soccer fun weeks during the school holidays.
Dave also spent 7 seasons coaching at Thame United FC. In that time, he was Manager of the Reserve and Youth teams as well as being part of the coaching staff for the First Team.
In 2003, after a long period of working together, Mark and Dave decided to form Premier Soccer Centres. When Southampton FC got to hear about this, they were quick to offer their support.
Malcolm Elias, Head of Recruitment at Southampton FC, says "I have known Mark and Dave for many years. They pride themselves on their high standards and ensure that their staff deliver high quality, structured football coaching sessions relevant to the ages and abilities of the children, ensuring the main aim as always, is that all participants have fun and enjoyment. We are delighted to be involved with Premier Soccer Centres and would highly recommend them to be an active part of your child's development".
After a year of Premier Soccer Centres forming, the FA recognised their high standards and awarded the FA Charter Standard Holiday Award in February 2005.
To date, Premier Soccer Centres coach football to around 1,200 children a week throughout Oxfordshire.
